August 24th, 2007 Dune by Frank Herbert 10 outta 10.

August 11 , 2007 Magic Kingdom for Sale–Sold! Terry Brooks.

August 7, 2007 1632 by Eric Flint.7 outta 10. Silly premise, good research. About a town in West Virginia that gets transported back in time to 17th Century Germany. Yup. You read that correctly.

July 24, 2007 The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi . 9 outta 10. It was great. I really like this guy and you should read him. You can tell he thinks he’s funnier than you, but it works out. Good stories, good ideas. Recommended.

July 19, 2007 Mainspring by Jay Lake. 6 outta 10. It introduced me to the whole sub genre of Steampunk - which I guess I knew about, but never knew its name. In fact, it is trying to invent a whole new sub genre of that style called, you ready for this, clockpunk. Wow. As for the book, it sorta makes no sense as a quest narrative. There is the hand of God in everything, the fact that the whole world works on brass tracks, it is run by a clock-like mainspring in the center of the earth, and there are winged mutants and angels from heaven and a Brass Christ. I dunno. Maybe I am not smart enough to appreciate it. Maybe I will appreciate it later?

July 14, 2007 Old Man’s War by John Scalzi - 9 outta 10 give this book. Great writing, fun story, made me read it faster than I should have. Reminded me a lot of Ender’s Game. Highly Recommended.

July 8, 2007The Road 8 outta 10 – I liked it, very fast read – triple spaced, lots of single paragraph sections, not too predictable. About as good for a legit book about a post-apocalyptic life. Don’y you wish that you could get away with using punctuation as you please?

July 7, 2007Aztec 7.1 outta 10 – I had been wanting to read this since I picked it up at the Goodwill when I was 12 or so.
